"Emily has a special gift for feeling and understanding the hearts and minds of teen girls, from early adolescence to adulthood. She recognizes where each individual is at, she knows where she wants them to go, and she artfully guides them to a place where they can thrive." - Diana Divecha, Developmental Psychologist, Assistant Clinical Professor, Community Faculty Yale Child Study Center & Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence
"Her methods are conventional and unconventional: Conventional, in the sense of operating within ethical therapeutic guidelines. Unconventional, in that she weaves didactic conversation into a fabric of meaning-making that also involves reflection, art, experiential exercises, playfulness, lots of laughter, nature, group connections, and witnessing and being witnessed. I think there’s a little dash of magic in there, too." - Diana Divecha, Developmental Psychologist, Assistant Clinical Professor, Community Faculty Yale Child Study Center & Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence
"There are at least two critical, developmental outcomes that I value in Emily’s work. One is that she helps girls find their own interior compass—at just the time when they are opening to the world (a world that doesn’t always serve, and sometimes harms, girls). Second, she helps girls form authentic relationships, and show up authentically in relationship, through the group format she holds. Girls learn to trust and care for other girls at a time in life when relationships can otherwise be volatile and fragmented." - Diana Divecha, Developmental Psychologist, Assistant Clinical Professor, Community Faculty Yale Child Study Center & Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence
"Emily is a teen whisperer to parents—I know that because I’ve relied on her expertise and experience on several professional collaborations. To the girls, she is a facilitator, an auntie, or an older cousin in the village. Above all, she is a much-needed mentor and inspiration." - Diana Divecha, Developmental Psychologist, Assistant Clinical Professor, Community Faculty Yale Child Study Center & Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence

Your Guide
EMILY FROST has over 15 years experience working with youth and families in the Bay Area. As the Founding Director of LOVE YOUR NATURE, she considers the heart of her work to be about our responsibility to remember, tend and teach what is sacred about being alive for the next generation. She facilitates programs that develop social, emotional and spiritual intelligence, with a focus on girls coming of age.
She works with young people and adults, in groups and individually, as a girls empowerment coach, contemporary rites of passage guide, and experiential educator. Her specialization is the meeting place between developmental psychology and nature based rites of passage, designing curriculum that is relatable to those who need it most - parents! She has worked with hundreds of parents of adolescents through Love Your Nature as well as the mentoring non-profit she served for 10+ years. Her mission is to help people, especially girls, young women and mothers, to know themselves and discover their inherent wisdom, power, and place in this world. She tends to an inter-generational village in service of learning and teaching how to honor life's passages. Emily is also a mother of a 5 year old boy and "rainbow mama" to many. "We are teaching girls how to have experiences that end in joy and honor, rather than regret, guilt, or shame. Youth need to understand what joy and regret really look like for them. We need to 'reflect and revise' what really matters. This work is so important!" - Charis Denison, youth advocate, founder of Prajna Consulting, featured in Peggy Orenstein's Girls & Sex, Advisor to Love Your Nature
