We made it! Not sure where but we made it! ;) 2019 has initiated us with our first cold, our first stomach flu, then another cold and the worst travel luck EVER ... oiy! But I can feel the winds shifting in our favor with the magical piggy energies of the Lunar New Year.

Shaye is talking up a storm and has found his love of dancing, hugging and kissing... still getting the hang of napping! Mama Emily is remembering who she is as a person and is finally figuring out how to find time for starlit hot tubs, friends, and cooking again... at least once in a while! (For the first time in almost 2 years my wedding band fits and I am wearing real pants) There is hope!

This week is the Tibetan and Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year. Welcome year of the Earth Pig! In the animal zodiac, pigs are humanitarian and generous givers who strive for equality and justice. They are loyal, courageous, magnanimous, and prosperous.

This year has the potential for grounded, vigilant, and stable energy that is inclusive and abundant. Like all signs, realizing the beneficial energies also takes intention. Focus on embodiment, developing love and tenderness for all beings (especially those who are suffering) and resisting self-indulgence (the not-so-healthy-kind). Remember that being "right" is far less important than loving and feeling loved.

Things must get messy before they get better. A "woke" life is NOT a less messy life. (Pigs=Messy, remember;) Waking up is inherently messy. Just keep going, keep growing ~ beauty and grace will reveal in the unexpected, and in living the belief that you are more worthy of these gifts than you remember yourself to be. Consciousness is not about achieving perfection, keep a watchful eye for "shoulds" in disguise.
